127.05 PROSECUTING ATTORNEY.
   (a)   There is hereby created within the Department of Law the position of Prosecuting Attorney of the City. The Prosecuting Attorney shall work under the direction of and report to the Director of Law who shall remain responsible for the prosecution of any criminal matters within the City. The Director of Law may personally conduct any of the duties of Prosecuting Attorney as the Director may determine.
   (b)   The Prosecuting Attorney shall be an attorney at law to be appointed by Council to serve at the pleasure thereof, and shall perform the services of Prosecuting Attorney, including the meetings with persons having complaints with the City, residents or other persons as is customarily handled by Police Prosecutors, the prosecution of cases in the Mayor's Court of the City and the Municipal Court of Bedford as directed by the Mayor, and such other duties as required by ordinance or the general law.
   (c)   The Prosecuting Attorney shall receive such compensation as is determined by Council.
