SECTION 9.07. RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT.

   Employee residency requirements shall be governed by Ohio Revised Code Section 9.481 (or its successor provisions) which provide that certain employees such as those serving in the City of Bedford Heights Police Department, Fire Department, Service Department or Water Reclamation Department, who may be called upon to respond to emergencies and disasters, shall reside in Cuyahoga County or any county adjacent to Cuyahoga County in order to insure adequate response times without unduly interfering with the employee’s choice of residence. The requirements of Section 9.07 as stated herein, shall control employee residency requirements from and after the date of its adoption by the electors. All other provisions of this Charter regarding employee residency requirements are void and of no effect after the effective date of this amendment. (Amended November 7, 1995; November 5, 2019)
