SECTION 8.02. DEPARTMENT OF LAW.

   The Department of Law shall be under the charge of the Director of Law, appointed by the Council to serve at the pleasure thereof.

   The Director of Law shall be duly admitted to the practice of Law in Ohio. He shall be the municipal solicitor and shall have such powers and perform such duties required by ordinance or which are imposed upon municipal solicitors by the general laws of Ohio.

   He shall act as legal advisor to, and attorney for, the municipality and for all officers, and boards and commissions of the municipality, and shall represent the municipality, or its officers in their official capacities in any action or proceedings in any court of law and shall perform such other duties as may be required by the Council, except as otherwise provided in this Charter.
