SECTION 6.02. MEMBER AND TERM.

   The Council shall consist of seven (7) members, four (4) elected by ward and three (3) elected at large. Each Council member and Ward Council member shall be a qualified elector of the Municipality, shall have resided continuously in the Municipality or the ward from which he is elected not less than two (2) years next preceding the date of his election and shall continue to reside therein during his term of office. Any Ward Council member who moves from his ward and any Council member who moves from the City shall forfeit his office immediately. The terms of the members of Council shall begin the first day of January next following their election; they shall serve a term of four (4) years or until their successors are chosen and qualified, except that the four (4) Council members to be elected by ward shall be elected at the regular Municipal election in the year 2007, and each four (4) years thereafter and the three (3) Council members to be elected at large shall be elected at the regular Municipal election in the year 2009 and each four (4) years thereafter.
