160.04 TRANSFER, LEASE OR CONVEYANCE OF LAND BANK PROPERTIES.

   (a)   Pursuant to the authority of Ohio R.C. 721.28, the City of Bedford Heights may request proposals for the transfer, lease or conveyance of vacant or abandoned parcels of real property owned by the City in its Land Bank to encourage the redevelopment of said real property and in order to return said real property to tax-generating status.

   (b)   The Council may authorize Requests for Proposal to be advertised by the City at least once per week for two consecutive weeks in a newspaper of general circulation within the City, or, in the alternative, by advertising at least once a week for two consecutive weeks on a suitable internet site; the Council may authorize other methods of advertising from time to time as it deems appropriate, including the placement of a “for sale” sign on the subject property.

   (c)   Offers for the transfer, lease, or conveyance of vacant or abandoned parcels of real property shall thereafter be presented to Council for further action.
