1179.05 MEASUREMENT STANDARDS.
Standards to measure and compute the amount of sign area permitted in the various districts are herein established as follows:
(a) The Total Area. The total area of all signs permitted on a lot in accordance with regulations set forth in this chapter shall include the area of the faces visible from a public way of all permanent exterior signs; the area of permanent signs placed upon the surface of windows or doors; the area within an outline enclosing the lettering, modeling or insignia of signs integral with a wall and other signs not designed as a panel.
(b) Building Frontage. The frontage of a building shall be the number of lineal feet of the facade facing the principal street or containing the main entrance of a store, office or commercial or manufacturing building.
(c) Lot Frontage. The frontage of a lot not occupied by a building shall be the number of lineal feet the lot abuts on the principal street.
(d) Frontage on a Second Street. Buildings or uses having frontage on a second street may include twenty percent of the length of the facade or the lot facing the second street. (Ord. 72-13. Passed 7-11-72.)
