1131.09 BOARD OF ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW; MEMBERSHIP.

   There is hereby created a Board of Architectural Review which shall be appointed by the Mayor subject to confirmation by Council. The Board shall consist of three members, as follows: a member of the Planning Commission, an architect and a citizen who because of his professional training or business experience is considered by the Mayor and Council to be qualified for appointment to this Board.

   Members of the Board of Architectural Review shall be appointed for a term of three years, arranged so that one term shall expire each year, provided, however, that the terms of the first three members appointed shall be of such length and so arranged that the term of one will expire each year. A vacancy for any expired term shall be filled in the same manner as an original appointment. The Chairman shall be designated by the Mayor at the beginning of each year.

   The Board shall organize and adopt rules for its own government, not inconsistent with any provisions of this Zoning Code or any other applicable regulations of the City, as may be necessary to carry into effect the duties and responsibilities conferred in this Zoning Code.

   Each member shall serve until his successor is appointed and qualified. Continued absence of any member from three consecutive regular meetings of the Board, unless excused from a regular meeting by the Chairman, and at the discretion of the Mayor, shall be reason to render any such member liable to immediate removal, subject further to confirmation of Council.
