749.06 OTHER LEGAL ACTION.
   (a)   Nothing contained in this chapter shall prevent the City or any person from applying to any proper court of record, commission or board, for relief which may include, but need not be limited to:
      (1)   Injunctive relief or an order otherwise compelling compliance with this chapter;
      (2)   Compensatory damages (as stated in Section 749.05(e)(6)), and/or punitive damages not to exceed one thousand dollars ($1,000);
      (3)   Reasonable attorney’s fees and costs provided that said complainant, in the opinion of the court, is not financially able to assume said attorney’s fees; and/or
      (4)   Such other and further relief as is appropriate for the enforcement of this chapter and the elimination of the violations thereof.
   (b)   Notwithstanding any other provision of this chapter, if the Prosecutor of the City informs the Housing Coordinator that he or she has instituted a criminal complaint in the Bedford Municipal Court for a violation of the provisions of this chapter, the Housing Coordinator shall have no jurisdiction to hear any complaint filed hereunder.
   (c)   This chapter shall not prevent the City or any person from exercising any right or seeking any remedy to which that person might otherwise be entitled, or from filing any complaint with any other agency or court of law or equity.
