749.04 HOUSING COORDINATOR.
   (a)   There is hereby established the position of Bedford Heights Housing Coordinator who shall be appointed by the Mayor, with confirmation of Council, to serve at the pleasure of the Mayor. The Housing Coordinator shall receive such compensation as Council shall from time to time determine. The Housing Coordinator shall be a high school graduate who has possessed a real estate license or who possesses comparable and/or related experience in the fields of real estate finance, real estate mortgage lending, real estate marketing or real estate development. The Housing Coordinator shall have a minimum of five years of such real estate experience prior to appointment to such position. The Housing Coordinator shall be prohibited from performing any real estate transactions pursuant to a current real estate license, either for or with the City or for any private individuals, during his or her term of office.
   (b)   The Housing Coordinator is charged with the following duties to implement the provisions of this chapter:
      (1)   To investigate all complaints which are filed with him or her pursuant to this chapter.
      (2)   To endeavor by conciliation to resolve complaints in those situations where conciliation is a proper remedy.
      (3)   To recommend to the Mayor other actions to be taken on specific complaints when conciliation is not a proper remedy.
      (4)   To recommend to the Mayor, when he or she deems necessary, educational programs to promote the purposes stated in this chapter.
      (5)   To adopt rules and procedures for the conduct of his or her business.
      (6)   Develop and maintain a current list of residents; monitor vacant and foreclosed homes; provide information to buyers, sellers and renters of property.
      (7)   Develop and host seminars for real estate agents, landlords, and tenants as well as attend and participate in workshops and seminars.
      (8)   Work with county and state officials in implementing programs designed to aid residents facing or in foreclosure.
      (9)   Disseminate information to residents regarding foreclosure relief programs.
      (10)   To do such other acts as are necessary and proper to fully perform the obligations with which he or she is charged under the terms of this chapter.
