157.111 SICK LEAVE; PERMANENT PART-TIME EMPLOYEES.
   (a)   All permanent employees who render part-time service shall be entitled to sick leave for time actually worked at the same rate of four and six-tenths hours for each completed eighty hours of service and under the same conditions as those granted for full-time employees under Section 157.11 herein. Such sick leave shall accrue at the rate of .0575 times the number of hours actually worked.
   (b)   Any permanent part-time employee of this City who becomes a permanent full- time employee of this City shall be entitled to carry-over to his or her credit all sick leave earned and not used as a permanent part-time employee of this City.

   (c)   Notwithstanding the provisions of subsections (a) and (b) hereof, permanent part- time employees hired after March 31, 2009 shall not be entitled to sick time, vacation time and/or holiday pay. (Ord. 2009-047. Passed 3-17-09.)
   (d)   Employees may use accumulated sick leave, if they so choose, for absence occasioned by the COVID-19 pandemic and emergency orders issued by the federal government and/or state government such as the "Stay at Home"order issued by the State of Ohio on March 9, 2020. After April 1, 2020, employees may use up to eighty hours of accumulated sick time under this subsection during the duration of the emergency orders issued by the state and federal governments, subject to the approval by the Mayor for administrative employees and by the Council President for Council employees. The use of the eighty hours of accumulated sick time cited above does not include the emergency sick time provided by the federal government pursuant to the "Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA)". Employees use of accumulated sick time related to the COVID-19 pandemic before April 1, 2020 is hereby authorized and ratified.
