§ 32.009 DISABILITY.
   If, before a police officer shall have attained retirement age, the employment of such police officer with the borough shall be terminated by reason of service-connected disability of such police officer as determined by a qualified physician designated by the Council of the borough, such police officer shall be entitled to receive, in lieu of and not in addition to the normal monthly retirement benefits, a monthly disability pension equal to 50% of the member’s salary at the time the disability was incurred, less any benefits provided under the Social Security Act. DISABILITY, as used in this section, shall be construed to mean total and permanent disability incurred in service.
