(A) No elected municipal official or compensated municipal employee shall solicit or receive, or assist others in soliciting or receiving, from any municipal employee, any contribution of money or other thing of value for any political party or candidate for public office or any other political purpose, including but not limited to non-partisan elections.
(B) Whoever violates division (A) of this section shall be guilty of a malfeasance in office or position and shall forfeit the office or position.
