(A) All new employees will serve a probationary period. This is considered to be a period of learning and adjustment to assure that the employee can perform the job. The probationary period is considered a test which may be terminated at any time. The probationary period shall be no less than three months and no longer than nine months.
(B) Six months is the normal probationary period but may be shortened or extended for up to three months by the County Manager upon recommendation by the department head.
