§ 91.99  PENALTY.
   (A)   A violation of this chapter subjects the offender to a civil penalty of $250 for each day a violation exists. Those sums may be recovered by the county in a civil action in the nature of debt if the offender does not pay within 20 days of notification of a violation. Following receipt of notification of a violation pursuant to this section, an offender does not pay within 20 days of notification of a violation. Following receipt of notification of a violation pursuant to this section, an offender commits an additional and separate offense for each day the offender continues operation of the subject ILO in violation of this chapter.
   (B)   This chapter may also be enforced by application for appropriate injunction, order of abatement, or such other equitable relief as may be appropriate under G.S. § 153A-123 or similar provision.
