§ 6-1-15 SPECIFICATION FOR CONSTRUCTION.
   Sidewalks constructed under the provisions of this chapter shall be of the following construction and meet the following standards.
   (A)   Portland cement shall be the only cement used in the construction and repair of sidewalks.
   (B)   Sidewalks shall be of one-course construction.
   (C)   (1)   Concrete may be placed directly on compact and well-drained soil.
      (2)   Where soil is not well drained, a three-inch sub-base of compact, clean, coarse gravel, sand or cinders shall be laid.
   (D)   The sidewalk bed shall be graded to the established grade.
   (E)   Residential sidewalks shall be at least four feet wide and three and one-half inches thick, and each section shall be no more than four feet in length.
   (F)   All sidewalks shall be elevated at least two inches from the height of the adjoining pavement, where possible, and shall be elevated at least two inches above the adjoining ground where possible.
   (G)   All sidewalks shall slope one-fourth inch per foot toward the pavement, where possible.
   (H)   All sidewalks shall be finished with a “broom” or “wood float” finish.
