§ 6-1-8 RESOLUTION OF NECESSITY.
   (A)   After adopting the plat, schedule and estimate, if the Council determines to proceed with all or any part of the public improvement, it shall propose a resolution of necessity, including:
      (1)   A brief description of the proposed public improvement;
      (2)   A statement that an estimate of the total cost of the work and a preliminary plat and schedule showing the amount proposed to be assessed to each lot for the improvement are on file in the office of the City Clerk; and
      (3)   The date, time and place at which a hearing on the improvement is to be held.
   (B)   The proposed resolution of necessity may be adopted with substantially the following wording:
 
BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Beacon, Iowa:
 
That a permanent sidewalk of the width of           feet is to be constructed (or repaired) of (name of the material) adjoining or abutting lot(s)          in the block(s)          of the City of Beacon, Iowa. The estimate of the total cost, a plat and a schedule of the amount proposed to be assessed to each lot is on file at the office of the Clerk. A public hearing is to be held (list the day, hour and place of the hearing) , at which time the Council will hear property owners subject to the assessment and interested parties for or against the improvement, its cost, the assessment or the boundaries of the district. The Clerk is directed to publish notice of the hearing in conformity with the city ordinance on sidewalk construction and repair.
