15.04.130: ELECTRICAL CODE ADOPTION; AMENDMENTS:
   A.   The National Electric Code 2017 Edition (NFPA 70), as promulgated and published by the National Fire Protection Association (National Electric Code) is hereby adopted by reference by the Village of Beach Park as modified pursuant to this chapter. At least one copy of the 2017 National Electric Code has been on file in the Office of the Village Clerk for a period of at least 30 days prior to the adoption of these provisions and remains on file in the Office of the Village Clerk and is hereby adopted and incorporated as fully as if set out at length herein.
   B.   National Electric Code on File: Complete printed copies of the National Electric Code, herein adopted, are available for public use and inspection at the Office of the Village Clerk.
   C.   Amendments to the National Electric Code: The National Electric Code, adopted by reference pursuant to this chapter, is amended as set forth in this section. Subsequent section numbers used in this section shall refer to the like numbered sections of the National Electric Code.
   The following sections of the Electrical Code are hereby amended as set forth in this section. Subsequent section numbers used in this Chapter shall refer to like numbered sections of National Electric Code (NFPA 70):
   ARTICLE 90 - INTRODUCTION
      91   Add the following new Article 91 as follows:
   ARTICLE 91 - Special Rules
      91.1   Additional Special Rules. The following special rules and regulations are hereby adopted as part of this code:
         1.   All unused or abandoned electrical wiring, devices and equipment shall be removed.
   ARTICLE 210 - BRANCH CIRCUITS
      210.8(A)   Amend Section 210.8 (A) to include additional exceptions as follows:
         (4)   Crawl Spaces - at or below grade level
            Exception to (4): A receptacle supplying a permanently installed sump pump or sewage ejector pump shall not be required to have ground fault circuit-interrupter protection provided that the receptacle is on a dedicated circuit.
         (5)   Unfinished portions or areas of the basement not intended as habitable rooms.
            Exception #2 to (5): A receptacle supplying a permanently installed sump pump or sewage ejector pump shall not be required to have ground fault circuit-interrupter protection provided that the receptacle is on a dedicated circuit.
      210.12(A)   Amend Section 210.12(A) to remove the requirement for Arc Fault Circuit Interrupter Protection in dwelling units as follows:
            (A)   Means of Protection Dwelling Units. All 120-volt, single-phase, 15- and 20- ampere branch circuits supplying outlets or devices installed indwelling unit kitchens, family rooms, dining rooms, living rooms, parlors, libraries, dens, bedrooms, sunrooms, recreation rooms, closets, hallways, laundry areas, or similar rooms or areas shall be protected by any of the means described in 210.12(A)(1) through (6):
   210.12(D)   Amend Section 210.12(D) to remove the requirement for Arc Fault Circuit Interrupter Protection when modifying wiring in dwelling units as follows:
            (D)   Branch Circuit Extensions or Modifications - Dwelling Units and Dormitory Units. In any of the areas specified in 210.12 (A) or (B), where branch-circuit wiring is modified, replaced, or extended, the branch circuit shall be protected by one of the following:
   ARTICLE 406 - RECEPTACLES, CORD CONNECTORS, AND ATTACHMENT PLUGS
   406.4(D)(4)   Amend Section 406.4(D)(4) to remove the requirement for Arc Fault Circuit Interrupter Protection when replacing receptacles in dwelling units as follows:
            (4)   Arc-Fault Circuit-Interrupter Protection. Where a receptacle outlet is located in any areas specified in 210.12 (A) or (B), a replacement receptacle at this outlet shall be one of the following:
