9.12.020: GAMBLING; GAMBLING DEVICES; EXCEPTION:
No person shall set up, keep or maintain, or permit to be set up, kept or maintained, in any house or place within the corporate limits of the village, occupied or controlled by him, any instrument, device or thing for the purpose of gambling, including, but not limited to, video gaming terminals which are not licensed by the gaming board of the state of Illinois and by the village of Beach Park or other mechanism with which money or property or anything representing money or property or anything of value, shall in any manner be wagered. Video gaming terminals include any electronic video game machine that, upon insertion of cash, is available to play or simulate the play of a video game, including, but not limited to, video poker, line up and blackjack, as authorized by the Illinois gaming board utilizing a video display and microprocessors in which the player may receive free games or credits that can be redeemed for cash. The term does not include a machine that directly dispenses coins, cash, or tokens or is for amusement purposes only. (Ord. 2014-O-05)
