Any person starting or attending any fire in the village shall obey the following safety rules at all times:
A. No fire shall be left unattended, and no fire shall be allowed to grow so large as to pose a danger to the safety of any building, structure or nearby trees.
B. No fire shall be set unless there is a fire extinguisher, garden hose or water source available at the burning site and of sufficient supply to extinguish it in the event of an emergency.
C. No fires shall be set when the winds are greater than ten (10) miles per hour.
D. Any officer of the Lake County sheriff's department, Beach Park fire department or any fire protection district and the village building and zoning administrator or his/her designee is authorized to enforce the provisions of this chapter.
E. All fires must be supervised by an individual at least eighteen (18) years of age.
F. No fire shall be set in any public rights of way (including ditches), public land or public places.
G. No fire for the burning of landscape material shall be located within twenty-five feet (25') of any structure on any property within the Village. (Ord. 2021-O-13 § 3 : Ord. 2009-O-53 § 1)
