A. There will be a permit fee as listed in the Village’s Schedule of Fees to permit up to two (2) full hives and two (2) nucleus hives, which must be paid and the permit issued prior to the acquisition of bees. Prior to issuance of any permit, the individual seeking the permit must provide to the village clerk, or village deputy clerk, written proof that the individual’s hives have passed inspection by an inspector designated by resolution of the board of trustees. The village clerk, or deputy clerk is authorized to prepare and make available to the public any forms needed for administration of these regulations pertaining to the keeping of honeybees.
B. This permit will be renewable annually if no violations to this code have occurred. Every permit shall be subject to the following conditions:
1. The permittee waives all claims against the village and against all other persons resulting from death or injury to any bee that is not confined in accordance with these regulations.
2. If the village receives two (2) or more complaints within a one hundred eighty (180) day period or three (3) or more total complaints within a calendar year period in regards to violations of title 8, chapter 8.12, “Nuisances”, of this code, or the provisions of section 6.08.014 of this chapter and this section about the premises subject to receive or having received a permit per subsection A of this section, the village will deny any proposed permit or suspend or revoke any existing permit. Any person denied a permit, or any person whose permit has been suspended or revoked, shall have the right of appeal as provided under subsection 15.21.010K of this code, as amended.
