6.06.040: BITE REPORTING AND INVESTIGATION AS DESCRIBED IN THE LAKE COUNTY BOARD OF HEALTH ORDINANCE:
   A.   It is unlawful for a physician, nurse, police officer or any other person knowing or suspecting that a person has been bitten by an animal or having reason to believe that an animal's wet saliva has come in direct contact with fresh, open or raw, preexistent abrasions or mucous membranes, to refuse or fail to notify the health department, village or agent for the village immediately. For the purposes of this section, the word "immediately" means by telephone, fax, in person, or by other than the use of the mail.
   B.   Bite reports shall be confirmed in writing to the health department on such forms and within such time period as prescribed in this chapter (fax to the village of Beach Park, Illinois). (Ord. 2007-O-84 § 2)
