6-1-3: UNREASONABLE ACCELERATION:
   A.   Prohibited: No person shall start or accelerate any motor vehicle with an unnecessary exhibition of speed on any public or private way within the city. Prima facie evidence of such unnecessary exhibition of speed shall be squealing or screeching sounds emitted by the tires or the throwing of sand or gravel by tires of said vehicle or both.
   B.   Penalty: Any person violating any provision of this section shall be guilty of a petty misdemeanor and shall be subject to penalty as provided in section 1-4-1 of this code. (Ord. 32, 12-6-1978; amd. 2002 Code)
