GENERAL PROVISIONS
Pursuant to the authority granted by M.S. § 412.591, subd. 2, as it may be amended from time to time, the offices of Clerk and Treasurer are combined into the office of Clerk/Treasurer. The Clerk/Treasurer shall be appointed by the City Council, receive such compensation as the City Council may fix, and serve at the pleasure of the City Council. The Clerk/Treasurer shall have such powers and duties as are prescribed by law and as the City Council may determine.

The City Council shall fix the salaries of the Mayor and City Council members in such amount as the City Council deems reasonable. Salaries may be on an annual, monthly, or per diem basis. Pursuant to the authority granted by M.S. § 415.11, as it may be amended from time to time, salaries shall be set by ordinance. No change in salary shall take effect until after the next succeeding municipal election.
