2-2-2: TERM AND QUALIFICATIONS:
   A.   Term: The term of office of each appointee shall be for a period of three (3) years. (1972 Code § 34.100)
   B.   Qualifications: The members of the board shall be considered officers of the city, and shall take such oath or affirmation of office and give bond in the same manner as other appointed officers of the city. They shall possess the qualifications required by state statute, and shall not be subject to removal, except for cause, upon written charges, and after an opportunity to be heard within thirty (30) days in his or their own defense, before a regular meeting of the city council. A majority vote of the city council shall be required to remove any such member from office. "Cause" shall specifically include, but not be limited to, the failure of any officer to attend at least three-fourths (3/4) of the regularly scheduled meetings of said board during any one year (May 1 - April 30).
