11-5-4: WATER SUPPLY:
When located within the service area of a public water supply system, cast iron water mains not less than eight inches (8") in diameter shall be constructed throughout the entire subdivision in such manner as to serve adequately all lots and tracts with connection to such public system, together with shutoff valves and fire hydrants; fire hydrants shall be installed throughout entire water system at intervals of not exceeding four hundred feet (400'). All fire hydrants shall have a seven inch (7") barrel and shall be provided with two (2) 21/2-inch hose connections and one steamer connection. (Ord. 873, 2-3-1958; amd. Ord. 85-31, 10-7-1985)
