§ 114.01  DEFINITIONS.
   For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
   OWNER OF A PUBLIC VEHICLE.  The person who has good title by lawful certificate and who in the conduct of his or her business operates or causes such public vehicle to be operated by a duly qualified and authorized agent.
   PERSON.  Includes firm, owner, partnership or corporation.
   PUBLIC VEHICLE.  Vehicles furnishing individual service for compensation in the transportation of persons on the public streets, and which shall be classified as taxicabs. Other vehicles furnishing mass service such as motor buses operating over a fixed route and on a fixed schedule are not included herein.
   TAXICAB.  Any public vehicle whose owner or driver secures or accepts passengers for hire on the public streets or on public or quasi-public places.
