§ 91.07  SEXTON.
   The Batavia Union Cemetery Board of Trustees shall hire a sexton as an employee of the cemetery association.
   (A)   Appointment.  The sexton shall be hired by a majority vote of the Board of Cemetery Trustees members.
   (B)   Responsibilities.  The sexton shall be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Batavia Union Cemetery, subject to any supervision, management, rules and regulations the Cemetery Board of Trustees may impose from time to time at its direction. The sexton shall require that next of kin or other responsible person sign and date forms indicating lot and grave site.
      (1)   Sale of lots.  The sexton shall have authority to and be responsible for, the sale of cemetery lots to the public. The sales price of cemetery lots is to be determined by the Board of Cemetery Trustees.
      (2)   Deed books.  The sexton shall be responsible for maintaining books and records of all cemetery lot deeds. The deed books are to be maintained in such place and in such a manner as directed by the Board of Cemetery Trustees.
      (3)   Burials.  The sexton shall coordinate all burials with the funeral directors and members of the deceased’s family. The sexton shall be responsible for contacting the grave digger and identifying the proper lot to be opened.
      (4)   Maintain property.  The sexton shall be responsible for the general appearance and maintenance of the cemetery grounds.
   (C)   Term of office.  The sexton shall serve at the pleasure of the Board of Cemetery Trustees.
