6-3-101: LICENSE REQUIRED:
   A.   Every owner or operator of a motor vehicle or motor bicycle who resides within the Village shall pay, on or before June 30 of each year to the Village Clerk, a tax or license fee for the use of each motor vehicle or motor bicycle used on any public street or alley in the Village, as is hereinafter provided, subject to the following exemptions:
Bartlett residents who are sixty five (65) years of age and over;
Disabled veterans to whom the State of Illinois has issued disabled veterans' license plates;
New residents of the Village shall not be required to pay such license fee until thirty (30) days after occupancy of their Bartlett residence.
The purchaser of a new or used vehicle shall not be required to pay such license fee until thirty (30) days after the date on which such purchaser receives delivery or possession of such vehicle.
Provided, however, that no more than one vehicle owned or operated by any such person shall be exempt from payment of the vehicle license fee. (Ord. 70-13, 10-20-70)
   B.   The license plates issued to dealers in motor vehicles for vehicles held for sale and used only for demonstrations may be transferred to any other vehicle so held and used by the same dealer; provided, that such dealers shall procure one license for each motor vehicle so held by him at any one time during the year.
