The County Council, being the county fiscal body, hereby determines that the mileage to be paid to officers, department heads and employees of the county, except for the Sheriff, Surveyor and Coroner, and their employees, shall be $0.40 per mile, for the actual miles driven by the person in the person’s own motor vehicle in the course of performance of official duties of employment with the county when the county has not furnished a motor vehicle that is available for the person’s use which shall not include miles driven from the person’s residence to the person’s place of work nor from the person’s place of work to the person’s residence.
