(A) The members of the various precinct boards of election shall be compensated for the performance of all the duties of their respective offices for each election in the amounts for each respective office as follows.
(1) Each inspector shall be paid the sum of $55 and, in addition thereto, the sum of $15 for the inspector’s services in calling at the Circuit Court Clerk’s office for the precinct election supplies, and the sum of $15 for the inspector’s services in the return of the precinct election supplies to the Circuit Court Clerk’s office, regardless of whether these services are rendered before, on or after the election day.
(2) Each judge, poll clerk, assistant poll clerk and election sheriff shall be paid the sum of $55.
(3) Each judge of the opposite party from the inspector shall be paid the sum of $10 for the judge’s services in accompanying the inspector in the return of the precinct election supplies to the Circuit Court Clerk’s office after the close of the election.

(B) In addition to the per diem compensation paid to each member of the election boards, each precinct election officer shall be paid a meal allowance in the amount of $15 instead of being provided meals under I.C. 3-6-6-31(a), as amended.

(C) (1) Boards sent to confined electors. Absent voters’ boards which are sent to confined electors shall be paid a per diem allowance of $50 and a sum for mileage equal in rate to that rate then currently paid to state officers and employees.
(2) Boards assigned to County Clerk’s office. Absent voters’ boards assigned to the Circuit Court Clerk’s office during the period from 30 days before election day through the day before election day shall be paid a per diem allowance of $50.
(3) Boards which are assigned to deliver absentee voters’ ballots. Absent voters’ boards that are assigned to deliver the absentee voters’ ballots to the precincts on election day shall be paid a per diem allowance of $50 and a sum for mileage equal in rate to that rate then currently paid to state officers and employees.
(4) Training sessions. If the county election board conducts a training session for the members of the precinct boards of election and the absent voter boards as permitted by law, each member shall be paid a per diem allowance of $10 for attending the training session.

(D) (1) The position of Precinct Election Sheriff shall be eliminated from each Precinct Election Board in the county effective immediately.
(2) Beginning with the general election to be conducted in November, 1995, and continuing for every primary and general election to be held thereafter, the precinct election judges shall perform the duties and have the rights of the election sheriffs of each precinct in the county.
