All the printed books containing the revised ordinances of the City shall be in the custody and keeping of the City Clerk. The Clerk shall deliver one copy thereof to each officer of the City, to be returned at the expiration of the term of office, and to such other persons as the City Council may direct. The Mayor or City Clerk shall have authority to extend to, or to reciprocate courtesies of, other cities, by presenting to them a copy of the revised ordinances bound, at the expense of the City, to such officer as may seem advisable.
