§ 30.01 ENHANCED 9-1-1 EMERGENCY TELEPHONE SERVICE SYSTEM.
   (A)   Generally. There is hereby established a public safety answering service to provide a single telephone number for emergency services within the local area, which service shall be known as enhanced 9-1-1.
   (B)   Agreement.
      (1)   The county, by and through the County Judge/Executive, is authorized to enter into an agreement with the phone companies to provide for the construction, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of enhanced 9-1-1 within the local area. Said agreement shall be for a period of one year commencing on the completion of installation by the phone companies in 1993, and terminating June 30, 1994, and shall be automatically renewable for 12-month periods of July 1 through June 30 upon the same terms and conditions, unless prior to 30 days of the close of said 12-month period, either party notifies the other of its intention to modify and/or terminate said agreement.
      (2)   Said agreement shall reflect the installation costs and the current tariffed recurring charges for enhanced 9-1-1 service charged during the contact period.
   (C)   Effective date. This section shall become effective immediately upon passage and publication.
