145.01 COMPENSATION OF MAYOR, RECORDER AND COUNCIL.
   (a)   Beginning July 1, 2023, the position of Mayor of the Village of Barboursville shall receive as basic compensation for his or her full-time services $61,152.00 per year from the general fund of the Village. In addition to the basic compensation, the Mayor shall receive additional compensation of $15,000.00 per year for services as Chair of the Village of Barboursville Sanitary Board, payable from the special revenue fund of the Village Sanitary Board.
   (b)    Beginning July 1, 2023. the position of Recorder of the Village of Barboursville shall receive as basic compensation for his or her full -time services $54,262.00 per year from the general fund of the Village. In addition to the basic compensation, the Recorder shall receive additional compensation of $8,400 per year for services as recorder of the Village of Barboursville Sanitary Board, payable from the special revenue fund of the Village Sanitary Board.
   (c)    Beginning July 1, 2023, the basic compensation for the services of the elected members of Council to the Village, other than the Mayor and Recorder, is $8,004.00 per year.
   (d)    The position of Mayor shall be as a "full time regular" employee of the Village, during his/her term of office, providing the Mayor works full time. The Mayor shall have the same privileges and benefit package including insurance coverage, as all other "full time regular" Village employees.
   (e)    The position of Recorder shall be as a "full time regular" employee of the Village, during his/her term of office, providing the Recorder works full time. The Recorder shall have the same privileges and benefit package, including insurance coverage, as all other "full time regular" Village employees.
   (f)    Beginning July 1, 2023, any salary increases, decreases or benefit adjustments for the Mayor, Recorder, and Council members may be made by Ordinance amending this Administrative Code Section of the Codified Ordinances of the Village of Barboursville, provided that, in accordance with State law, any salary increase for elected officials shall not take effect during the present term of the individuals occupying the position.
   (g)    In the event of the death, resignation, or removal of a member of the Council, the Mayor or Recorder, and the appointment and qualification of his or her successor, the compensation provided in this section for the month in which the death, resignation, or removal of the member occurs shall be prorated between the original member and his or her successor on the basis of the number of days served, including Saturdays and Sundays in the month.
   (h)    No additional compensation, salary, or benefit shall be paid to any member of Council, the Mayor or Recorder other than that provided in this Section.
