§ 240.05 EMERGENCY MEDICAL AND RESCUE SERVICES.
   (A)   The Fire Division is hereby authorized to be the primary provider of emergency medical services (EMS) and rescue services in the city.
   (B)   The Chief of the Division of Fire, in conjunction with the Safety Director and the Finance Director, is hereby authorized to assess a fee on any private company that utilizes personnel employed by the municipality in the transportation of patients to or from a medical facility or other location. The Chief of the Fire Division shall develop a “transport assist fee policy” to determine the fee and guidelines for assessment, on an annual basis. This policy shall be available for distribution to all area transport companies operating within the city.
