(A) If a registered HVAC contractor or his or her representative finds that the heat exchanger of space heating equipment is leaking products of combustion into the environmental air or that space heating equipment is otherwise so defective as to require replacement, the contractor must advise the property owner, or his or her agent, in writing, that the leaking or defective condition may be verified upon request at no charge by the Building Inspection Department or the Fire Department.
(B) Forms for the purpose of this notification shall be furnished by the Building Department.
