§ 31.01 APPOINTMENT OF MEMBERSHIP.
   (A)   The town’s Tourism Development Authority shall consist of five members who shall be appointed by the Mayor and approved by the Town Council and shall be selected as follows.
      (1)   Group One. Two members of the Authority shall be an owner or manager of a town hotel, motel or bed and breakfast.
      (2)   Group Two. One member of the Authority shall be a representative of Lees McRae College.
      (3)   Group Three. Two members of the Authority shall be chosen at large and shall be individuals who are currently active in the promotion of travel and tourism in the town.
   (B)   The initial terms of the members of the Authority shall be as follows: the initial term of one of the members appointed from Group Three shall be for a one-year term; the initial terms of one of the members shall be appointed for terms of three years each. Thereafter, all terms shall be for three years.
   (C)   Vacancies occurring in any group shall be filled for the remainder of the unexpired term by the Mayor and approved by the Town Council.
   (D)   Members of the Authority shall receive no compensation for their services.
