§ 71.63 EXCEPTIONS TO THE USE OF TRUCK ROUTES.
   (A)   The Mayor or Maintenance Engineer shall have the authority, subject to modification by the City Council, to issue temporary permits for a period of not more than 24 hours for trucks to operate over routes not designated as truck routes, but only upon showing of good cause and only after request for the same.
   (B)   The provisions of this subchapter shall not apply to school buses, emergency vehicles of any Fire Department, public utility, or governmental vehicles where actually engaged in the performance of services necessary to the functioning of the same, or refuse or solid waste collection or transport vehicles when the same shall actually be engaged in that enterprise within the city.
