(A) City abatement. Any public nuisance remaining unabated after expiration of the time stated in the notice to abate may be abated as directed by the City Council, at the cost of the owner or person causing or allowing the nuisance.

(B) Cost of abatement. If the city should incur any cost to correct or abate any nuisance, the Municipal Finance Officer shall bill the owner or person causing or allowing the same, and the owner or such person shall have 30 days to pay the same. If the bill is not paid within the time stated, the city may charge interest thereon at the maximum legal rate and may sue the owner or such person to collect the same.
