§ 31.01  MUNICIPAL COURT JUDGE.
   (A)   After the effective date of this section, the Office of Judge of the Municipal Court shall be filled by appointment by the City Council.
   (B)   The Judge of the Municipal Court shall have the qualifications required by the laws of the state and the following qualifications:
      (1)   Be at least 21 years of age;
      (2)   Have a minimum of a high school or equivalent education;
      (3)   Be familiar or willing to learn the duties of the office; and
      (4)   Not have been convicted of a felony or crime of moral turpitude.
   (C)   The Judge of the Municipal Court shall perform the duties and serve a term of office prescribed by the laws of the state.
   (D)   The Judge of the Municipal Court shall receive such compensation as the City Council shall approve.
   (E)   The effective date of this section was 3-21-2006.
