§ 130.15  JUVENILE CURFEW.
   (A)   Generally. There is established a curfew prohibiting minors from five through 16 years of age from being in any public place unaccompanied between 12:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. Sunday through Thursday and between 1:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. Friday and Saturday; and between 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on school days.
   (B)   Purpose.  It is the express purpose of this section to:
      (1)   Deter criminal conduct involving juveniles;
      (2)   Reduce the number of juvenile crime victims;
      (3)   Reduce injury from accidents involving juveniles;
      (4)   Reduce the additional time that law enforcement officers are required to be in the field due to juvenile crime;
      (5)   Provide additional and more effective means and options for dealing with gang-related violence and crime;
      (6)   Reduce juvenile peer pressure to stay out late;
      (7)   Reduce juvenile peer pressure to participate in violent or criminal activities;
      (8)   Assist parents in the control of their children; and
      (9)   To make the city a better community and a safer place to live and work, to raise a family and to grow up.
   (C)   Scope.  The curfew established in this section applies to any person five years of age through 16 years of age and to the parents, legal guardian or authorized adult supervisor of any such person within the incorporated city.
   (D)   Definitions.
      JUVENILE.  A child five years of age through 16 years of age, unless the juvenile has graduated from high school or has received a high school equivalency certificate, is legally emancipated or is married.
      SCHOOL DAY.  Any day of the year on which any local public schools are in session.
      SCHOOL HOLIDAY.  Any day during the school year on which all local public schools are not in session.
   (E)   Periodic review.  This section shall be subject to periodic review as required by Tex. Loc. Gov’t Code § 370.002 and any amendment thereof.
