   The following standards shall be used for the installation of individual sanitary sewer pumping systems connecting to the sanitary sewer force mains located outside the corporate limits of the town. Individual systems shall comply with these standards and be inspected prior to the connection with the sanitary sewer system.
   (A)   Grinder pump unit assembly.  The grinder pump unit assembly shall be a factory-built and tested simplex grinder pump assembly suitably mounted in a basin constructed of fiberglass or high density polyethylene (HDPE);
   (B)   Operating conditions. The grinder pump shall be capable of delivering 15 GPM against a rated total dynamic head of 0 feet (0 PSIG) and 9 GPM against a rated total dynamic head of 138 feet (60 PSIG). The pump must also be capable of operating at a negative total dynamic head without overloading the motor. Under no condition shall in-line piping or valving be allowed to create a false apparent head;
   (C)   Check valve.
      (1)   The pump discharge shall be equipped with a factory installed, gravity operated, flapper- type integral check valve built into the discharge piping.  The check valve shall provide a full-ported passageway when open, and shall introduce a friction loss of less than 6 inches of water at maximum flow.
      (2)   Each grinder pump station shall also include 1 separate check valve for installation in the 1-1/4 inch service lateral between the grinder pump station and the sewer main located next to the curb stop.
   (D)   HDPE pipe and fittings. High density polyethylene (HDPE) PE3408 pipe and fittings for low pressure sewer systems shall meet ASTM D-1248 requirements for Type III, Class C, Category 5, Grade P54 material and meet ASTM D-3350 cell classification of 345434C.  Pipe and fittings shall be pressure rated DR 11 and shall be manufactured in accordance with ASTM F-714, ASTM D-3035, AWWA C901, or the applicable wastewater service specifications;
