Pretreatment of industrial wastes from major contributing industries prior to discharge to the treatment works is required and is subject to the rules and regulations adopted by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) (40 C.F.R. Pt. 403), and “Guidelines Establishing Test Procedures for Analysis of Pollutants” (40 C.F.R. Pt. 136). In addition to any more stringent requirements established by the town and any subsequent state or federal guidelines and rules and regulations.
