§ 50.021  METER TAMPERING.
No customer shall tamper with any utility meter, or knowingly allow anyone else other than an employee of the utility to do so.  Tampering includes turning on, shutting off, or altering in any way the registering devise of the meters.  In the case of water service, this would also include the removal of the lid from the meter pit.  It would also include the placing of electric meters in the meter base backwards or the use of a magnet or magnetic device to slow the register.  Tampering shall be deemed a criminal offense and may be treated as such by the Board.
