The meter register face shall clearly indicate the unit of measurement. Electric meter shall register in kilowatt hours, water meters in U.S. gallons and gas meters in cubic feet. In the case of a large meter service, if a multiplier is used, the customer shall be informed of what the multiplier is and it shall also be noted on the appropriate page of the meter reading book.
