§ 30.042 MAYOR PRO TEMPORE.
   (A)   The Mayor Pro Tempore shall be declared to be the member of the elected Council receiving the greatest number of votes cast by the Council.
   (B)   In the event of the sickness or temporary absence of the Mayor Pro Tempore, while acting as Mayor, the chairperson of the first standing committee in the order listed in §§ 30.075 and 30.076 shall act as Mayor. In the event of the resignation or permanent absence of the Mayor Pro Tempore, the Mayor and Council shall elect a Council member to serve as Mayor Pro Tempore until the next Council election.
