Deposits
New Service:
Residential: When applying for new service, either as a homeowner or renter, the initial deposit shall be $170. The deposit shall be made payable to Avilla Municipal Electric Department at the time service is requested.
Non-Residential: When applying for new service other than as a homeowner or renter, the initial deposit shall be $170 plus one-sixth the estimated annual billings for electric service to customer at the address where service is rendered.
Meter Testing:
Residential: $25
Non-Residential: $75
Penalty Fees
Late Fees:
Residential service: 10% of the first $3 and 3% of the unpaid balance that is past due
Non-residential service: $15, plus 3% of the unpaid balance that is past due
Disconnect Penalty:
Minimum reconnection fee, charged in the event service was disconnected due to nonpayment, shall be $25.
Fraudulent or Unauthorized Use of Electricity (Theft of Service):
Residential service: $125 plus six months estimated usage.
Non-residential service: $250 plus six months estimated usage.
