(A) The power transformer, if 25 KVA or less in size, supplying a service of 200 or less amperes, will be furnished by the utility at its own expense. For transformers or transformer banks whose total KVA rating is over 25 KVA and supplying more than 200 amperes per phase, whether single or three- phase, the customer shall be required to make a non-refundable contribution in aid of construction on the transformer or transformers in the amount of $6 per KVA of transformer rated capacity. The customer shall, at his or her expense, construct in place a concrete foundation and pad for the above described transformer or transformers, as directed by the utility. If the transformer or transformers are of an open construction, the customer shall, in addition to the concrete pad, construct at his or her expense a protective fence with an appropriate gate around the transformer or transformers, as directed by the utility, in strict accordance with its plans and specifications. At the same time the transformer concrete pad is poured by the customer, the utility will furnish at its expense a 90° pre-bent conduit elbow and a five-eighths-inch by eight-foot-long ground rod. These are to be installed by the customer in the transformer concrete pad, as directed by the utility, as a part of the concrete pad work performed by the customer. The above specifications are based on the requirement that the transformer or transformers will be located outside the customer’s building at ground level for pad mounted arrangements, or on a power pole of the utility, readily accessible by the utility’s equipment and personnel.
(B) Should the customer request a transformer or transformers arrangement in or on his or her building other than described previously, he or she shall furnish and install the transformer or transformers and maintain them at his or her expense as they shall be his or her property, and solely his or her responsibility.
