(A) The Clerk-Treasurer shall establish a Special Vehicle Inspection Fund for the sole purpose of keeping apart and separate from other town funds those monies collected by the Town Police Department for vehicle identification number inspections performed by its officers.
(B) Pursuant to state law, the fee for these inspections may not exceed $5. The fee to be collected by the Police Department is hereby established to be $5 for each inspection, or any higher fee provided for by state law, as amended, immediately upon the amending statute’s enactment.
(C) The money collected from the vehicle inspections and deposited in the Special Vehicle Inspection Fund shall be appropriated solely for law enforcement purposes for the Town Police Department.
