§ 32.03 POLICE RESERVE.
   (A)   There is hereby created, pursuant to I.C. 36-8-3-20, a Town Police Reserve not to exceed eight officers.
   (B)   Any member of the Police Reserve shall be appointed by the same authority that appoints regular members of the Police Department.
   (C)   No member of the Police Reserve may be a member of the regular police force, but any member of the Police Reserve shall have the same police power of the regular police force, except as may be limited by rules of the Police Department.
   (D)   The Police Department is authorized to adopt rules to limit the authority of the Police Reserve, but any rules so adopted must be approved by the Town Council.
   (E)   No member of the Police Reserve may participate in any pension program provided for regular members of the Police Department.
   (F)   No member of the Police Reserve shall be appointed until he or she has completed the training and probationary period specified by any rules that may be adopted by the Police Department and the Town Council, as provided in division (D) above.
   (G)   To the extent that the funds for benefits are appropriated by the Council, a member of the Police Reserve may receive a uniform allowance, receive compensation for time lost from other employment because of court appearances, and be insured for life, accident, sickness and false arrest coverage.
