§ 31.04 TOWN MARSHAL.
   The Town Marshal shall execute all the orders, ordinances, and resolutions of the Council. It shall be his or her duty to use all lawful means to preserve the peace and order of the town, suppress riots and other breaches or disturbances of the peace and order of the town, and ensure that ordinances are duly and properly enforced. He or she shall serve all notices, orders and resolutions or copies, when directed by the Council or by the Town Manager, and make return of the same to the office of the Town Clerk-Treasurer. He or she may, with the consent of the Council, at any regular or special meeting, appoint one or more deputies and be responsible for the correct discharge of their duties, which appointment shall be in writing and subject to the consent of the Council. He or she shall make an account of monies received from whatever sources, and shall pay over the same to the Clerk-Treasurer, who shall make a receipt to him or her therefore. He or she shall generally perform all duties required of him or her by law, or order of the Council pertaining to his or her office.
